Kitchen Nameing Competition SM Portrait

An update 4th May 2020.

Dear Bundanoon Club Members,

I hope you and your extended families are all well during this time and staying safe.Club May 2020 SM 2
As you know the Bundanoon Club was forced into a government-imposed COVID-19 shut down on the 23rd of March for an unspecified time frame. It has been a difficult time for the club, not the least because we had to stand down our workers. We have been able to take advantage of the federal government’s JobKeeper package to keep some of our employees on. The club has also successfully applied for other forms of government assistance which helps to pay our fixed costs when there is no income coming in to meet those costs.

The Board of the club has been keen to use this time to engage in some maintenance and improvements. Our club is different from larger licensed clubs, in that much of the work done at the club is undertaken by volunteers and we are very grateful for their efforts.

Club May 2020 SM 1Building on the good work to revamp the bar area undertaken over the January period, Steve Granger and his helpers have repainted the outdoor BBQ area and have gutted the kitchen in preparation for a new floor, cabinetry, and appliances which will make for a far better kitchen operation when the club reopens.
The club has new external signage and the retractable awning over the deck has been replaced and automated.
Yvonne and Dick Boonham have been busy repairing and re-staining the outdoor furniture on the deck, which together with the new signage and awning will update the look and feel of the club’s main outdoor area.
Club May 2020 SM 4Other work undertaken includes a clean-up/cleanout of the storerooms and freezers (thanks to Steve and Thea Evans) as well as some hedge trimming and painting. The improvements are a work in progress, and I have included some photos to allow you to connect with the club as we go through these unusual times.

We don’t know when the club will be allowed to open but when we do, you can expect the return of the usual community spirit with a fresh new look for many areas of the club. In the meantime, be sure to stay up to date and follow us on Facebook and check out our website during this time in anticipation of our reopening.
Club May 2020 SM 3On behalf of the Bundanoon Club Board, employees, and volunteers, thanks for your loyalty and support and we look forward to welcoming you back with open arms again soon.

Regards,

Peter Ellsmore
Chairperson, Bundanoon Club Ltd
